Indigent Criminal Defense and Navigating CPCS as a Vendor

With the most recent approvals to raise vendor pay, including for private investigators to $75, the Committee for Public Counsel Services are beginning to understand and acknowledge the importance of our role in the justice system in Massachusetts.  In this presentation, we’ll discuss the basics of conducting these investigations, doing so within the available budget, and navigating the ins and outs of working with CPCS as a vendor.

Daniel J. Collins, CLI, CCDI is a Certified Legal investigator and a Regional Director for the National Association of Legal Investigators and he is a Certified Criminal Defense Investigator with the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council, from whom he has received multiple national commendations.  He also operates Level Investigations of New England, Inc.  His team conducts hundreds of investigations every year, many of which are through CPCS.  He was also awarded one of four 2023 and 2024 contracts from CPCS to help jumpstart their pilot program for Post Conviction Investigations.
